Bears on the Job …
I spent the day in Aspen recently seeing customer projects and meeting with owners. We have had the good fortune to work with Steve Smith Construction. He does not have a complete website, but he does have a great gallery on his Google+ page.
Steve showed us a gorgeous home he completed a few years back but first shared this video of a visitor to a different job site with us. This bear is a beautiful animal but not one I would like to be that close to … or work with on a job site!
We had the opportunity to tour the home and the level of fit and finish was amazing. There were 11’ tall Marvin Lift and Slide doors that framed the Aspen views and setting of the home beautifully.
Steve’s company takes great pride in their attention to detail and craftsmanship, and it really shows. For example, they used slotted screws in the door hinges. A small touch that might not be noticed by most, but it made quite an impression on me.
As if that wasn’t crazy enough …
On our way out of town, we stopped by another Steve Smith job site and saw some of the most unbelievable feats of engineering! The construction involved in this home building / remodeling project was amazing. We estimated that the hole is 35’ deep. Look how the house is being supported! YIKES!
