On vacation on beautiful Orcas Island in Washington State. Enjoying the down time but thinking about how to reinvent the window replacement business – how homeowners become educated consumers, what the replacement process is like, how financed, and what ongoing “life-cycle” services might be valuable.
Not thinking about improving the home improvement process but about recasting it along the model of goods and services we as consumers hold in high regard. What are those? Personal concierge services? VRBO or Vacation Rental by Owner (where we have had very good luck securing nice places to stay).
One idea has come to me: Include one enlarged or reconfigured opening with each whole house window replacement to give the homeowner the opportunity to re-imagine their space in the budget context of a window replacement. More ideas to come!
