Boulder County is offering a fall rebate program that if you have windows and/or doors installed that have a U-value of .35 or better by October 31st, you could be eligible for a $250 rebate and microloans to help finance improvements.

What is a “U value?”

The U-value is the rate of heat loss of a window assembly. The lower the U-factor, the greater a window’s resistance to heat flow and the better its insulating properties.

Can I use this rebate in conjunction with the federal tax credit?

Yes! The Boulder County Energy Smart rebates can be used with the federal tax credit of 10% on updating energy efficient windows and doors up to $500 on product and capped at $200 for just windows.

Do I have to use an approved contractor to be eligible?

Yes, using approved contractors is the only way to take advantage of the rebate and microloans.
