We just love Sky-Frame. But these views don’t just happen.

It took 3 years and 326 days (yes, we keep track of this data) from when we first bid this project to the day we delivered product. We’ve seen multiple fenestration companies pop up and fizzle out in less time than that. To stick around in this business, you really have to care about the end result for the contractor and the customer. There’s no other way — there’s no way you would keep at it if you didn’t care about that element. Multiple European vendors, long lead times, complex construction details, logistics, sending crews up to Aspen from Denver to spend entire weeks away from their families, hell, even document management … the list goes on. And that’s exactly why there are so few companies doing what we’re doing.
There always seems to be this “hurry-up and order it” energy in construction. We all know a project can stretch on forever, and we all want to do everything we can to avoid that. You might read 3+ years and think there’s something we didn’t do to move it along, like we didn’t take the necessity to get it ordered seriously. But the truth is that projects of this magnitude have an incredible level of detail, which all our contractors and architects know. There are so many inter-related elements to consider, and if you aren’t willing to spend the time upfront, you’ll never deliver a project that your client can be happy with in the end. I’ve learned over the years that you just can’t rush these projects. You can take care of the details, and take responsibility, but to some degree you’ve got to let it unfold as it should. Otherwise you’ll end up with product on hand that at least one person in the chain isn’t completely satisfied with.

There will be over 50,000 lbs of glass on this residence when it’s all said and done, which is mind-blowing. The world of glass is actually insanely complicated. This glass layup clocks in at 2-1/4″ thick, and we’re absolutely thrilled to be the team to help deliver that.
We’ve got a single IGU over 2,000 lbs, and we’re not worried in the least about the talent that will be setting it. We’re excited for that day. We’ve talked about it for over a year, because, well, we’re glass nerds!
Fenestration at this level requires a massive amount of technical expertise and commitment to collaboration on the front end, and a massive amount of talent on the install, and thankfully, we’ve got both.
These projects are never simple, but we couldn’t be prouder of what we do and how we do it.
